Beautifying

Believe me when I say that once you get engaged, it’s like prepping for the beauty-olympics. The majority of the last year I’ve spent growing out my hair, changing my skin routine, drinking more water (and less diet coke) and looking for inspiration online for wedding-day hair & makeup. Sure, there is an enormous amount of pressure for women to look the most beautiful they have EVER looked on their wedding day, but it can still be fun. I knew pretty early on that I wanted my hair down, and a smokey-eye look. Once my makeup trial rolled around on October 22nd (cutting it a little close!) I had a number of inspiration images to show Lisa. Here’s what I came up with…nothing really out of the box, I mostly just want to look as close to a Victoria’s Secret ad campaign as humanly possible for me:

And here’s my hair & makeup from my trial last week:

Then I had to think about where I wanted my veil to be placed, ontop of my head, or a bit lower. I think I’m opting for lower:

Once we left the trial we stopped at a hair place to buy some (very expensive) extension to give me more length:

I think I may make a few changes the morning of the wedding, but nothing drastic.
