Ever since I laid eyes on the wonderfulness that was the WedLuxe wedding show in 2012 at the Ritz-Carlton, I knew I’d be back one day to check things out as a bride, and not a vendor. Well January 6th 2013 rolled around and I was finally able to make that dream a reality!
Hosted at the gorgeous Fairmont Royal York hotel, this years’s show was even better than the last. This year my mom & our friend (and work colleague) Eda and I all went together after a MUCH needed Starbucks caramel brule latte stop- and met up with 2 of my dear friends (and bridesmaids). Once we handed in our tickets, we received a goody-bag that we proceeded to fill with fun freebies in the Coco Chanel inspired gifting suite!
The girls and I split from mom and Eda and did our own thing from 11am-2pm, checking out the displays, sampling the drinks and cupcakes, and speaking with invite designers, djs etc etc.
Mom took one look at me and said “woah.. too dark!” and she’s probably right… though the makeup photographed better than it looked in person if you ask me. I took some photos once I got home so I could remember how it looked:
Maybe a more toned-down look for the big day? We’ll see. I still need to find a makeup and hair artist & book with them! Alright, back to the show.
After we had made our way through all of the displays we waited in line to check out the Gatsby Tea Room – we were quickly seated and offered a selection of teas and mini sandwiches:
After 2pm rolled around the girls headed out and I met up with Mom and Eda to spend another 2 hours going around to the booths again and taking it all in. I managed to meet up with a DJ that I really liked and got some info, the rest of the time I just gushed with Mom over all of the booth details I missed the 1st time around. Check out how amazing the show was (courtesy of Melanie Rebane’s Blog & WedLuxe’s website):
I spent the rest of the night going though my goodie-bag and sorting through all of the vendors info. I love freebies!
